We Love The Planet
We really do! We really care about maintaining its natural beauty and contributing to the restoration of its natural state and equilibrium. We want you to know that we have a game plan and we need your support to execute it. (Go team, go!)
We understand that the natural world has limits and believe that land is not a commodity, it's a basis of life.
Sadly, our research has revealed that our passion for the planet is not universally shared. It has become clear that the natural and human economies are not always accounted for when determining the cost of fashion.
Did you know that the fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world?
This is where Indecisive enters the picture. Not only do we understand the impact of the fashion industry, we are determined to reduce its impact and drive better practices that are more sustainable and will benefit nature and humans alike. We want to acknowledge that we are not perfect, but we are actively ensuring that our actions drive the reduction of our footprint on the Earth.
While researching, we discovered three interdependent worlds of water, waste and fabric. As a starting point these are the areas that Indecisive will aim to improve through our practices. Water consumption and pollution control, waste management and mitigation and thoughtful fabric selection are our key drivers for doing better and we will, with your support.
We Love Animals
At Indecisive, we feel like we have hit a point in our evolution where we just want to love everything.
“The world doesn’t need you to save it, it needs you to love it” – We can't remember where this quote came from, we are just happy that it landed in front of our eyes.
Animal product use in the fashion industry has a tremendous impact on the environment and, as much as we wish it wasn’t the case, most often the animals are abused because it is the most efficient way to get to the end result. They aren’t looked at like living creatures and no kindness is shown to animals when they are being turned into fashion items. Sad right? Heartbreaking.
We will not use any animal products at Indecisive and will send all of our love and admiration to the kind souls out there fighting for animal rights.
Australian Made Organic Cotton
We use ACO certified organic cotton jersey that is grown in India and spun and woven in Australia. We purchase our organic cotton from OCC Apparel.
Surplus fabric is excess fabric from someone else’s production. Here are some of the reason why we think surplus fabric is great:
- Our efforts keep manufactures fabrics within the overall production life cycle of plant matter to final garment, meaning that we offset production related to environment
- We are saving the fabric from making its way to landfill which could take up to 200 years to biodegrade
- We are also helping other businesses to move excess/left over stock and we whole heartedly believe in supporting each other to reduce environmental impacts.
We source our surplus fabric from several different places including off-shore and on shore fabric manufacturers, op shops warehouse and fabric stores.
Our Organic Bamboo and Tencel are surplus fabric, we do not get any of our Organic Bamboo or Tencel made.
We Love Manufacturing
We manufacture our garments in-house on the South Coast of NSW Australia. We are passionate about Australian manufacturing and ensuring that we create a company that benefits our employees and customers.
Our employees are protected under the Australian Fair Work Act and paid higher than the Australian Standard Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Associated Industries Award 2010 (MA000017). We have flexible working agreements in place and ensure that our employees are continually developing and enhancing their skill set.
Packaging and Operations
All the packaging that we use to send our items is made from recycled biodegradable materials including our envelopes, tissue paper, labels and paper.
We post our items via Sendle (which is a certified B Corp) and Australia Post.
We are in the processes of creating a product from our scrap fabric, we also donate fabric rolls that we will not be using to up and coming designers and create samples out of them.
